90 ball and 75 ball are the two main types of bingo that are played online. These two types have their own regional roots but now most online bingo operators offer both types to acommadate for the wider audience. Which one is best? Well thats a decision only you can make but we have pointed out the main differences so you know. I guess you can only make a decision as to which one you prefer after testing them both.
90 Ball
This version of the game has British heritage and is most popular in the UK, Australia, Europe and South America. In 90 ball bingo a strip or ticket is purchased that has a random selection of numbers on it presented in a horizontal 9 x 3 grid, also with a series of blanks. Numbers between 1 to 90 will then be called out and the player must match the numbers in horizontal lines to win. This allows each ticket to potentially win 3 prizes by matching a sinle horizontal line of numbers, two lines or all three lines. Several people can win combinations of 1, 2 or a full house with three lines, but the games goes on until someone gets a full house.
75 Ball
The 75 ball version of the game is popular in the US and Canada and is similar to 90 ball bingo in the sense that you buy a strip, card or ticket and numbers are called out that you must match to win there are some differences. The main ones being that only numbers 1 - 75 are used, hence the name. The balls drawn are also alphabetically numbered with either B,I,N,G or O which indicates to the player the location of the number on their strip. The layout of the ticket is in a 5 x 5 square grid with no blanks apart from the centre, which is always a free cell.
